By that I mean, since you haven't heard from me from China, that does not necessarily mean any bad news. Thank you for all the concern about our safety; what with the devastating earthquake that occured over here just a couple days after we arrived. It just breaks me heart to see all the destruction and lose of life that has come upon the people in that part of this country. The people here are so wonderful... humble and kind and friendly and hard working and they just don't deserve something so horrendous. Thankfully for us, the earthquake happened about 900 miles away so there has been absolutely no impact on us. I am having Katie post this for me since, come to find out, the blogging here is uber difficult! I can barely access my blog but posting on it is just too much. We are having a fabulous time after having arrived here under very disconcerting circumstances like not being in the Air China flight computer at 1:30 am in LAX and having to be rebooked the next day on a totally different airline with our flight directed through Shanghei to Beijing. Our new motto for traveling needs to be "expect the unexpected"! I think Heidi will be posting some of our adventures on her blog so if you'd like a little preview of our fun you can just clik on Heidi's blog on my sidebar. Thanks for keeping in touch and I can hardly wait to share this marvelous experience with you with photos and stories. I'm sure the next two weeks will go by in a blink and then I'll be back home and have lots to remenicense about.
